In collaboration with the Danish weaver, Kjellerup Væveri (Kjellerup Weavers), House of Zowum has created a collection of textiles, comprised of 32 colours in wool and cotton. The collection takes its point of departure in the original watercolours by Zowum. It is designed by textile designer Lykke Bloch Kjær and the textiles are woven at Kjellerup Væveri in Denmark. The textile consists of 75 % wool and 25 % cotton.
The Martindale-test is used to test the durability of the textiles. During the test, the fabric is worn against a standard woolen with a specific weight load, which determines the wear resistance. When choosing a piece of furniture, remember to take into consideration in which environment the furniture is to be used, as well as the wear resistance you need.
For private use, the Technological Institute recommend between 10.000-25.000 Martindale. For use in public spaces, a minimum durability of 10.000-45.000 is recommended. Nevertheless, most of our textiles has a remarkably higher durability.
