Sheepskin has great natural qualities. The natural material is both elegant and smooth. The sheepskin is extremely hard-wearing and does not attract dust or dirt, making it is easy to clean. Its fibres breathe to act just like a natural thermostat for the body, meaning it is cool in summer and warm in winter. At the same time, sheepskin is as if made for Zowum’s organically shaped pieces, as these underline the natural softness of the material.
Please note that the images shown are for guidance only. There may be colour and texture differences from the images shown to the specific sheepskin. The furniture delivered may vary in colour and texture compared to the images. We kindly encourage you to view the physical material samples at our official retailers.
Through a careful selection of sheepskin, it is possible to achieve a unique product that is well suited for furniture upholstery. No two sheepskins are exactly alike, and each individual sheepskin is examined very carefully before the processing commences. Each hide is then treated manually in order to align the density and structure of the wool – and is cut by hand. To ensure an ethically correct way of raising sheep, our suppliers are in close contact with the animal farmers and conduct regular visits. The raw material, which serves as the basis for production, is sourced from a Merino-hybrid from Australia and New Zealand. This type of sheep is bred for meat, which means that the raw material is a biproduct of the food industry.
